Nicole Diaz-Pellot
is a passionate dance educator and performance artist from San Diego, who believes in the power of movement as a holistic and inclusive practice. She began her dance journey at age five at War Memorial and later joined the San Diego Civic Dance Company for six years.
Nicole earned a BFA in Dance from the University of the Arts and performed with the Group Motion Dance Company under the mentorship of the late Manfred Fischbeck. Since 2014, she has been part of the Katherine Dunham Technique Certification community and is currently working towards her Dunham Teacher Certification.
Specializing in Afro-Modern dance, Nicole has taught extensively throughout San Diego, creating inclusive spaces where students explore dance as a form of self-expression and unity. She also creates workshops to bring diverse bodies of all abilities together for the love of dance. Her classes, including Creative Dance, Afro-Modern, and Dance with ThisAbility, reflect her commitment to fostering a transformative and inclusive dance environment.
As a full-time job, Nicole creates and oversees community programs, furthering her mission to break down barriers through dance. She is dedicated to allowing people of all backgrounds and abilities to experience the unifying power of movement.
